Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Introduced in 2001, the .NAME universal domain extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to buy john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level names remained active.

You will have the opportunity to edit the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer code from the present registration service provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no special prerequisites on who can acquire a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the objective behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
