Spam Filters
What exactly is an e-mail spam filter? How does it work? How to enable spam filtering?
A spam filter is a piece of software that’s installed on a mail server and keeps track of all inbound email messages so as to prevent any unasked-for ones from entering a specific inbox. Several instances of such emails would be: offers for pills or cash, fraudulent banking statements or attachments that contain malicious software sent with the intention to damage your computer. Spam filters usually check the content of an email message and if they detect particular keywords or other suspicious content, they either delete the email or re-send it to the Spam/Junk folder instead of the Inbox folder. Some web hosts mix their own filters with up-to-date databases from spam-tracking organizations, so as to ensure higher levels of security for their clients. Such databases include patterns, mail server IPs and other info about spam emails recently revealed by these organizations.

Spam Filters in Cloud Web Hosting
If you order a
cloud web hosting package from us and if you use our email services, you will be able to activate anti-spam protection for any of the mailboxes that you set up from the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel. With only a few clicks, you can choose between 5 different security levels. In case you start receiving spam, you can begin with the lowest one and then slowly increase the level until you stop getting spam. We make use of one of the best and most famous spam filters out there called SpamAssassin. It examines the header field and the body of each email that you get and calculates a spam score, based on which it either erases a given email or allows it to enter your inbox. Hepsia will also permit you to set up custom filters and either get rid of unsolicited messages or send them to a third-party address such as spam@domain.com where you can view them again at a later time.

Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Hosting
If you order a
semi-dedicated server package from our company and if you set up one or more email accounts with any of the domain names hosted in the account, you will be able to activate the powerful, five-level SpamAssassin spam filter that we provide and keep all unwanted email messages out of your mailbox. This functionality is accessible through the Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel and it can be enabled or disabled for any email account whenever you like. You can also configure the security level with a few clicks of the mouse if junk emails continue to reach your inbox or the email filter starts deleting legitimate emails. Since you can choose if the spam should be erased instantaneously or re-sent to another email account, you can set up spam@domain.com, for example, and view all filtered emails there, so as to make sure that you won’t omit an email that you require. The emails that the spam filter allows to proceed will still be delivered to your inbox.
